Dayal Center for Academic Excellence

The Dayal Center for Academic Excellence (DCAE) provides academic support for all Middle and Upper School 学生 to help them reach their academic and personal potential. 除了, The Center coordinates peer and professional tutoring, provides study skill assistance, and supports Independent Study experiences during 研究.

Faculty advisors provide wisdom and support in all areas of school life. Daily check-ins, 每周一次的午餐, and regular updates to families connect advisors, 学生, and their parents.

Scheduled and drop-in tutoring is available to 学生 for all courses in the Middle and Upper School. Tutors may include Maumee Valley 学生, parents, friends, alumni, and professional tutors. Because the goal is to get 学生 thinking as independently as possible, tutors take an individualized approach. Tutors work closely with student support staff and classroom teachers to design effective support. 辅导 may be scheduled during free periods, lunch, or after school. Evening tutoring sessions are scheduled at the 新德里的房子 between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on Monday-Thursday.

Study Assistance

Personalized assistance is available for 学生 in need of developing skills in time management, 组织, 做笔记, reading comprehension, test preparation, and test anxiety. Emphasis is placed on specific study strategies that are designed to support each student's learning profile. Sessions are also designed to promote the development of essential life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and stress management. All ninth-grade 学生 meet with the student support specialist during the fall intensive and rotation. Assistance with study skills may be requested by any student during free periods or after school.

Provides access to help for 学生 with learning differences (outside testing, SAT/ACT/AP accommodations, group, & individual support to develop coping strategies specific to each student’s needs).
Promotes discussion between 学生 & the Director of College Counseling to build resumes, set up independent studies, & connect with outside enrichment programs.
Offers SAT/ACT/AP test preparation.
